a list-transforming function

August 27th, 2008 by blogemylive

Here we pipe the original list into a list-transforming function - the function that is the result of partially applying List.filter to IsOdd. Since this example is very simple, I could have just written
let newList = List.filter IsOdd origList

That is, this example didn’t need asus a42-v6 battery partial application and the pipeline. But if we were doing NEW Battery fit Dell Inspiron 5150 5160 1100 1150 5100 a more complicated series of transformations on the list, then the pipeline style and partial applications would be the way to go. Indeed, we saw this in the previous blog entry about pipelines, where there were a number of partial applications asus A42-W3 W3A W3N W3V W3000 W3000A of functions in the Set module.

In general, partial application of curried functions is a handy apple powerbook g4 a1022 a1079 m9324 technique, and in practice I find that pipelines are the place where this technique is most commonly used.

(Teaser: I have an idea for a more detailed example that utilizes partial application asus m6 battery in a particularly interesting way, and I hope to write about it in the near future.)

introducing more combinators

August 26th, 2008 by blogemylive

What’s left to do? On the one hand, we’ve reached a nice plateau at this point; the library is sufficiently fleshed out to be useful for expressing parsers for a number of languages. On the other hand, there is still uniwill 255-3s4400-g1l1 battery plenty that can be done, including

* introducing more combinators in the library (Parsec, for example, has tons more useful stuff)
* improving the perf (I would really enjoy profiling this to get acer bta0302003 battery a better feel for how lambda and enumerables behave at runtime; I would also like to find and fix the leaks)
* adding laziness, so that it’s possible to get online behavior, where NEW Battery for IBM/Lenovo Thinkpad t60 92P1141 initial results can be produced while the rest of the input is still streaming in
* adding laziness to the internals, so that for example, rather than eagerly asus a42-a3 a3000 z9100 a3l a3n computing error information as we go along, we wait until there is an error (if there is one) to compute the corresponding hp f2024a battery diagnostics (I am not sure if this is pragmatic, but it sounds kinda fun)
* a ton of ideas I haven’t thought of yet, I’m sure

But after five major blogging (and coding!) installments, I think I’m probably ready for a short break. :)

I’ll post the code in a separate blog entry soon.

East Falls-based

August 16th, 2008 by blogemylive

The East Falls-based campus of Philadelphia University has a new branch in Manayunk that opened up last Monday.
A groundbreaking ceremony and tour was conducted Asus A42-W1 battery at the new Philadelphia University Research Center (PURC), to give visitors a glimpse of the facility located at 4145 Station St. Here is where students will focus on cutting-edge research in engineering, textiles and building techniques. The facility holds two main centers inside, the University’s Laboratory for Engineered Human Protection and the Engineering and Design Institute. The center houses many of the laboratories that are used for high technology, fiber based research and product development.
But you really have to go inside to see the complexity of the building. The first stop was the Materials Evaluation Lab, where textiles are tested and studies. There is hot plate that tests the thermal conductivity of materials (to find out how much moisture clothing can hold, and how to keep it dry), and electron microscope to look at the fibers Toshiba PA2510 battery and many strange, unique tools that beat and prod these poor fibers into a pulp, all to ensure the comfortableness of our clothing and materials.
Lab Supervisor Janet Brady said, “Here is where we look at non-woven materials and evaluate surface changes on fibers for fire and chemical protection, among other things.”
The Composites and Advanced Textile Materials Laboratory would be a great place for any seven-year-old to sneak into, because, according to Professor Chris Pastore, this is where, “we make stuff and break it.”
Most of the students take two semesters to study different Dell Latitude C400 Series battery materials and find out how they can utilize them. For example, Pastore showed visitors a large back of shredded money (unusable) from the U.S. Federal Reserves that had been donated to the school because it was material that had no real use anymore, and the Reserves doesn’t want a bunch of money floating around without a home. So what does the school use the shredded money for? Money has been used amalgam of things, including a board-like material for siding.
The Nonwovens and Design Laboratory was next on the Acer BTP-60A1 battery tour. This is an interesting part of the research facility, because it shows practical uses for bonding fibers in everyday materials, such as Brillo pads, antibacterial wipes and diapers. The school receives these fibers, bonds them, and decides what products need what types of fibers.
Did you know that over five billion poultry fabrics (meaning: unused feathers) are left over at poultry farms? What can be done with Dell Inspiron 2200 battery these fibers, after they are donated to the facility? They are also used to make spongy-type materials for everyday use, in places you wouldn’t imagine (i.e. cleaning supplies).
Carol Konopinski, research associate, explained, in a nutshell, what this new Manayunk facility will be used for.

Update

August 14th, 2008 by blogemylive

Well, dad is doing better. Yesterday when I went up to the hospital, he has looking more like himself. He hasn’t got to come home just yet, but I think he will as soon as the doc comes by to compaq Presario 1800 Series battery give him his results. Anyways, just wanted to give this little update and will let everyone know more as soon as I do. Take care and GOD bless.

11PM: Status report

Dad is home now. Turns out, he didn’t have a stroke. Which is a blessing from GOD. He had a Toshiba PABAS012 battery extreemly bad migraine. I know how those are, when I get em I end up in the ER too. So, anyways he is home now. I get to take care of him tomorrow and friday. So, hopefully he will be back to his normal self soon.

Well, last night was a huge scarey ordeal. Mom took dad to the Dell Inspiron B130 battery ER cause his BP was high and he had a bad headache. Turns out they think my dad had a mild stroke. Never though I would hear myself say that. He is too young to be having issues like this. All I can say is, I hope this is a wake up call to him and he starts taking better care of himself. We all deal with stress in different ways, I guess he just had too much on his plate at the time. I just hope that when he gets out, he will find a better way to deal with stress. Which probably HP NX7100 battery means he will be spending more time out at the golf course. But, that makes him happy and I know it helps relieve stress. At least for me it does. Anyways, I will keep everyone updated on his cituation. He’s having an MRI done this afternoon, so will know more specific details then. Well, bye for now and GOD bless.

A lot of miles

August 14th, 2008 by blogemylive

Well, this weekend was something different. I think I spent most of it driving in my truck. It all started last Thursday. I drove to Lubbock to go with my grandma to our family reunion. Left here a Dell Inspiron B120 battery little after 11am and arrived there around 5pm. I don’t mind the drive between Dallas and Lubbock, it was the driving to the reunion that was bad. Well, grandma and I got up Friday morning and finished getting stuff ready to take with us. Around 1pm, we set of for the mountians of New Mexico. We had like a five hour drive a head of us. Well, while we were still in Texas, it was pretty fun looking at scenery and stuff. But, as soon as we hit NM, it was the most boring Asus S5000 battery ride i have been on in a while. My phone was completely out of service, we had already went through all the cd’s that grandma would listen to and man it was just dull. So, we finally make it to the campsite a little after 6 mtn time…7central. The next day was pretty cool. Got to catch up with my cousin from Houston and see what all she had been up to. Sunday, we all said our Toshiba PA3055 battery goodbuys and went on our ways. We went to my uncle’s house, and I dropped of my grandma. I was headed back to Lubbock. Of course, no phone service and me by myself. Oh well, I made it safely. Monday, I just took it easy. Grandma was on her way back from a funeral and we were leaving today to come to Dallas. We finally got here about 4 something, and I am so Toshiba PA3400U-1BAS battery glad to be back home. Cause I am tired of driving, and I miss DALLAS!!! Well, that is all I have for now.

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN AWARD OF HONOR

August 10th, 2008 by blogemylive

Remarkable. . . the landscape architect has made the space feel so much larger. . .very familiar vocabulary of mid-century modernism, but is much richer. . .extraordinarily precise. . . nice scale to the materials.
For this project the client asked Gregg Bleam Landscape Architects Asus M6N battery to design a minimalist interpretation of an Italian terraced garden. Economy and proportion are intrinsic qualities of the design. Freestanding Tennessee sandstone wall planes flank the entry to the new garden. Bronze gates, reminiscent of Japanese shoji screens, lead to a black slate Dell Inspiron 1501 battery terrace whose edges are defined by a naval brass reflecting pool and a bronze vine scrim supporting grape vines. On the left, a cantilevered slate step leads to a bocce lawn surrounded by stucco walls. A long cedar bench suspended from the vine scrim faces the perennial garden for spectators to sit and enjoy a match. Staggered rows of European hornbeam border the end of this upper garden terrace. On the right of the entry terrace, slate steps subtly cross the adjacent reflecting pool. Serviceberry trees planted in a quincunx pattern similar to that of Tuscan Asus A32-M9 battery olive groves disguise a path that leads to the secret garden, a pleasant place to enjoy a glass of wine.

The garden is organized by three vertical planes. A black slate terrace and reflecting pool are flanked by freestanding compaq N600 battery sandstone walls. The entry terrace leads to a bocce lawn and a secret garden (photo: Scott Smith).

Alive and doing fine

Hey people!! Well today I decided to get up and out of here. Gonna go Toshiba PA3284U-1BAS battery get my chicklets n take them on a lil tour of the country. I thought “who the f**k gives a shit bout me and bad, sad moods?” No one! So I’m having a grand day today, can’t wait to go out and spread the good cheer. Got my fav outfit on, fixed my (too long) hair, and I convinced my fav chickie to dress up n look her best. It might be the Friday syndrome or it could be that I realized I’m in love and the guy actually cares Toshiba PA3128U-1BRS battery a lot too. He’s just scared to show it, or I might be dreaming. Oh well! Dream on gurl! a quote from Shannon Hoon “when you stop dreaming its time to die”. Heartbreak is a part of being in love. And I think thats as far as I’ll go today on preaching bout love.
I miss all of my friends, the ones I hardly see, and the crazy fuckers that I haven’t seen in years. So I’m hoping that I see that 1 guy HP nc4000 battery thats just crazy.
I watched Napoleon Dynamite last night by my lonesome, enjoyed it, heck yeah I did! Such a great movie.
Well it’s Friday, I’m hoping the night is better. My kiya is sore, and I don’t know why.
Cheers my brown beige sastas!

I got a cold, not the flu

August 7th, 2008 by blogemylive

No a simple head cold with stuffed nose, watery eyes and slight headache. My life partner is now feeding me Ginger Tea and tells me that I should get into bed and sweat it out. She is out getting Asus Z9100 battery fixings for a hot pot lunch chez-nous. It is somewhat charming to be adressed as my “dear little boy” when I am 69 and still curmudgeony.

I do relate to the story of the 82 yr old chinese Acer BATCL50L battery scientist who apparently has or will marry a 28 yr old woman. All you young squirts out there can “eat your hearts out!”. Life is great, even with a head cold. No temperature yet!!
