Levels 40-60

Ok so we continue.

I have since this post played another character through FotD and have made a new feedback thread regarding this see : Field of the Dead Revisitted

I was now lvl 40 and I went to field of the dead.
I loved the atmosphere in the zone, except that it seemed like I always played there when it was night, dark and gritty, but what do you expect in a zone full of werewolves.
At this point I had been overwhelmed with quests, which is why FotD didnt seem as overwhelming as my previous 40 lvls.
The amount of quests vs bugged quests was something you have to keep in mind here. AoC guideAoC guide AoC tipsAoC tips AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC power levelingAoC power leveling
In my opinion there werent enough quests, but I did hit some of the bugged quests aswell so it seemed less, I was doomed to grind alot of my lvls here, since the quests I could do usually took me from anywhere from 20-50% through a lvl, and then I was grinding the rest.
I kept running to Eiglophean Mountains in hope I could find some quests there, but they didnt start so early, so it was back to FotD.
At around 48-50 I went to EM and started questing there, this area had more bugged quests than FotD and I was back to grinding, however there were some really good potential in the quests I did manage to do in EM, and I cant wait to see more from this place.
Old Tarantia seemed to offer some pretty decent quests too, especially some more RPG related quests and more interactivity/story line quests.
I finally hit lvl 60, and it was time to move on. AoC guideAoC guide AoC guideAoC guide AoC goldAoC Gold AoC goldAoC Gold AoC power levelingAoC power leveling

Quests 40-60
At 40, I didnt see much of the interactivity quests, it seemed more like Kill Quests, kill 15 of these, 15 of those, collect this and that, which is fine, since you basicly have to kill these things anyways for xp.
I did manage to do some quests which gave me back the feeling of an RPG here aswell, one particular quest involving a guy who was turning into a werewolf, however I had hoped for another outcome !
There seemed to be more bugged quests on these levels, compared to 1-40, but as I said earlier, the quest ratio isnt comparable on these lvls to 20-40, which I will come to in a minute under zones. AoC tipsAoC tips AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC tipsAoC tips AoC goldAoC Gold

Dungeons 40-60
I didnt really find any Big Dungeons on these lvls, it was more caves and such, and of course without the Invincibility buff I wouldnt have been able to solo any group based dungeons I would have found, so I cant say too much about this.

Zones 40-60
Basicly after 40 it starts feeling very confined, with only one zone from 40-50 (FotD] and another one from 50-60 (EM) perhaps because I was grinding too much, and basicly just got fed up with the places in the end hehe, there were of course Frost Swamp, the housing zone and Ymirs Pass (Which I was told wont be staying) Frost Swamp is a minor zone, I managed to get a quest for the place from the housing zone, but it was too bugged to do much there.
The Housing zone itself, Lacherish Plains sp? was indeed very buggy.
Also we had the Noble District in Old Tarantia, however this zone was very bugged, missing alot of textures and so on.
The reason of confinement on these lvls were perhaps because of the said bugged zones, hopefully the next time I run through them, it will work alittle better and I will be able to try out more than just two zones. AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC guideAoC guide AoC tipsAoC tips AoC power levelingAoC power leveling

Levels 60-80

So I was lvl 60, and I went to Atzels Approach, there were a bunch of quests, but some were buggy, some didnt reward exp, and the ones I did manage to do gave decent exp, still I got back into the need more lvls to get more quest thing, and therefor I had no other choice to get back to grinding, I grinded a bunch of lvls, did quests in between and reported the bugs I could find.
Atzels was a fairly decent place to level, alot of mobs, some nice sights to see and a few dungeons too, quests here were more of the kill quests and collectable quests too, of course there were some quests which were pretty nice, but still bugged. AoC goldAoC Gold AoC goldAoC Gold AoC guideAoC guide AoC guideAoC guide
At lvl 70 I jumped straight to Kheshatta to quest there, to my suprise, none of the quests rewarded any xp, which was quite a downer for me, since that meant I had to grind my way up to lvl 80, my main concern here was to make sure quests werent bugged, other than the missing xp and coin.

Quests 60-80
Now on these levels it was very confined aswell, two zones which you could quest in, Atzels from 60-70 and Kheshatta from 70+, while there are Os Harku aswell its not possible to get there atm.
Quests seemed plentifull however, except there were too many bugged ones, and no xp for the others.
I do have to admit though, that Kheshatta seems like a really good place to quest, there were one in particular (which I dont want to spoil) which really made me think of movies/books etc, it was really great. AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC tipsAoC tips AoC tipsAoC tips AoC goldAoC Gold

Dungeons 60-80
I have found several dungeons for these lvls, real dungeons mind you, but also some sewer dungeons etc, like we had in Tarantia for example, I sneaked through one of these dungeons, but it wasnt as immense as the Sanctum, however I am looking forward to trying these things out once we have people for it.

Zones 60-80
Like I stated before, it felt very confined, due to not being able to travel to Os Harku for example, but also 3 zones on lvl 60-80, even lvl 80 would seem like nothing, and would get very boring quite fast. AoC goldAoC Gold AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC guideAoC guide AoC power levelingAoC power leveling
While I do like Atzels it was a pretty nice zone.
Kheshatta was a blinding experience lol, all the purple grass/flowers was blinding my eyes, I really loved the layout, even though the zone seems quite small.

AoC Guide: Dark Templar 1 - 80 Leveling Guide
Levels 1-40

Originally I wanted to play a Barbarian, I made one but the class (rogues) were way too bugged to play.
I played a Guardian in Build 1, and I wanted another experience, so I made my Dark Templar, known as Blocks.
The first days of beta, the experience was moving soooo damn slow, there were alot of grinding involved in tortage to be able to recieve the next quests due to not being high enough lvl. AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC goldAoC Gold AoC guideAoC guide AoC power levelingAoC power leveling
That changed later on, and was welcome for sure.
I got to lvl 20 and recieved my first DT skills, my two stances and it was pretty awesome.
However my excitement and joyfullness soon evaporated, I got cursed (known as Blocks Curse)
One patch later I got hit in a crash bug, didnt matter what I did, I just kept on crashing and crashing and crashing, I made a new character, which actually helped, but whenever I tried playing Blocks, I just kept on crashing.
At one point I managed to get stuck and was unable to log in at all, it just kept hanging at the loading screen, so I was unable to play Blocks for around 1 ½ - 2 weeks due to this. AoC goldAoC Gold AoC guideAoC guide AoC tipsAoC tips AoC goldAoC Gold
With all the crashing I had managed to bug my character, Blocks was lvl 30 when I was able to play him again, so I had managed to get a few lvls while still crashing etc.
With the new aquired fix on the crashes, my character was now invincible, I had managed to get Shield of the Risen bugged to be permanent.
So I did the next 10 lvls, without being able to die, I managed to get through the Sanctum in Wild Lands (which was an awesome experience btw)
And I finally managed to get myself drowned at lvl 40, after that the buff was gone and I havent been able to recreate it since I never knew how I got it to be permanent ! AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC guideAoC guide AoC goldAoC Gold

Quests 1-40
So now I was lvl 40, I have always loved good quests, where you have a great story, you get involved, quests where you interact with objects or people, and so on.
The levels 1 - 40 was a perfectly good example on this, I enjoyed questing very much, especially in Old Tarantia I found a quest which reminded me so much about RPG’s, that mixed with an Online world and the really great graphics, it was bliss!
Of course there were bugged quests, which also got reported! AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC guideAoC guide AoC tipsAoC tips AoC tipsAoC tips

Dungeons 1-40
While there might be other instances classified as dungeons, I have only been in one, Sanctum of the Burning Souls.
This dungeon is group based and located in the Wild Lands. AoC goldAoC Gold AoC goldAoC Gold AoC tipsAoC tips AoC power levelingAoC power leveling
Now this was my first trip through a dungeon in AoC, and I was really in awe, the immense size of the dungeon, the details and just the quests you had involved with the dungeon, it was a grand experience, I must admit that if this is what AoC dungeons is like, I will be sure to do as many dungeon crawls as I can.

Zones 1-40
Alot of choices basicly, 1-20 it was Tortage, white sands, archeronian ruins etc, 20-40, you had Conalls Valley, Wild Lands, Khopshef, the zones seemed plenty considering my level and how fast you actually go through the lvls, not only did you have the three major zones, but also zones within those zones, for example in Wild Lands, you had the border ranges and such. AoC power levelingAoC power leveling AoC goldAoC Gold AoC tipsAoC tips AoC goldAoC Gold
Pretty nice start after leaving tortage.

1. Introduction
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Welcome to my guide for Kal Online! This is the first of what I hope to be many
guides I write to assist players with one of my favorite online games. My goal
for this guide is to provide you with the information on the various methods
of enhancing you weapon in game. I will be describing different methods that
you can use to make your weapon better as well as talk about important items
that will be crucial to the success of making your weapon even stronger! Thank
you for your interest in my guide and I hope you enjoy! :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
2. Common Terminology
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Clean ~ A weapon that has not manually been enhanced by a user. Weapons bought
from Weapon Merchants and dropped from enemies are all clean.
Expert ~ A natural clean drop from an enemy that already has the best positive
stats on it for its intended class. It is the most commonly sought after of
the natural drops and is the most expensive.
Grade ~ The level of a weapon. Can be seen in quotes below weapon name.
Pimp ~ The frequently used slang term referring to the act of taking a weapon
and enhancing it by various means.
Pimped ~ The frequently used slang term referring to a weapon that has been
highly enhanced.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3. Talismans
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are currently three different types of talismans that can be used on
weapons. Each type changes your weapon’s attributes differently and the
following is a detailed synopsis of how they each alter the enhanced weapon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3A. Talismans of Attack/Magic
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Acquiring: These are most common types of talismans around and are the most
important and widely used by players to improve their weapon. These can always
be purchased from the Merchant of any town for approximately five thousand
geon a piece. Please note that Talismans of Attack may be used on any of the
three classes of weapons, while Talismans of Magic can only be used on mage
Sticks. These types of talismans can only be used on weapons whose grade is at
least 40 or higher.
Usage: To use one of these talismans all you have to do is unequip the weapon
you wish to enhance and then drag the talisman over it in your inventory. With
every one of these that succeed the weapon’s Minimum/Maximum Physical Attack or
Minimum/Maximum Magical Attack will permantly increase by a certain amount,
depending on how many of them you have previously and successfully added.
The following tells you the Attack Increase received from the given number of
successfully added talismans. (More numbers will be added as I get them.)
+1 ~ +1 Increase
+2 ~ +2 Increase
+3 ~ +4 Increase
+4 ~ +6 Increase
+5 ~ +9 Increase
+6 ~ +12 Increase
+7 ~ +16 Increase
+8 ~ +20 Increase
+9 ~ +25 Increase
+10 ~ +30 Increase
+11 ~ +35 Increase
+12 ~ +41 Increase
+13 ~ +47 Increase
+14 ~ +54 Increase
+15 ~ +61 Increase
+16 ~ +69 Increase
+17 ~ +77 Increase
Failure: The safety is granted for the first four of each of these talismans
that you add. This means that starting with the fifth one you add, there is
a chance of it failing. The higher the weapon’s grade, and the higher the
number of previously successfully added talismans, the higher chance that
it will break after 4 talismans. When one of these types of talismans fails
there are only two possible outcomes. The first is that your weapon will lose
1-3 points of endurance. Once its endurance reaches 0 it will break. The
second is that your weapon will outright immediately break. The higher the
number of talismans the more likely it is to break.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3B. Talismans of Intensification
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Acquiring: These uncommon talismans are dropped by just about every single
enemy in the Kal world. The only way to get one of these is to continually
fight large amounts of a targeted enemy and hope you get lucky. Or you can do
the easier thing and simply buy them from other’s private shops. Prices
are varied between shops and its best to shop for these in Narootuh or Cargo
Station as it is here where new players have their shops and many severely
underprice them unknowingly.
Usage: To use one of these talismans you also only have to unequip the
weapon you wish to enhance and then drag the talisman over it within your
inventory. These talismans add a certain amount of stat points when you have
the enhanced weapon equiped. They include Strength, Health, Wisdom, Intelli-
gence, and Agility. The stat points added vary between talismans so it is
important to check the numbers on each talisman you buy and use. These tali-
smans contain 2 green numbers written on them, each with the percentage of its
success next to it. The top number is the “best” stat and is generally the
number you buy the talismon for and is what you want to succeed. The bottom
number is the worse of the two stats and usually has a higher percentage of
success. Many players, including myself, feel getting the bottom stat is a
failure due to it not being what you buy the TOI for. The top stat is what
is important and thus it is what they are named after.
(Example ~ A “10/3 Agility” TOI is called a “Gliding” because the +10 Agility
attribute is called Gliding, while the +3 one is called Instant.)
When one of these talismons succeeds, you will get either the top or bottom stat
added to your weapon; the top one if you have great luck. The newly enhanced
weapon will also be given the name of the attribute in front of its clean name.
(Example ~ A “ChulTae Bow” that you successfully add +3 Agility to, will have
its named changed to “Instant ChulTae Bow”.)
Failure: The failure of a TOI is considered when you get neither the top nor
bottom of the stats on your weapon and only depends on each talismans percent
of success. Adding more TOIs will not decrease the chance of success for future
TOIs. While a failed TOI will never break your weapon, you will always lose 5
endurance points. Thus, your weapon can only break on a failed TOI if its fails
when you enhance having 5 or less endurance points remaining. Please note that
previous stats will be overwritten if a new TOI is successfully added.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
3C. Talismans of Accuracy
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Acquiring: These rare talismans can only be dropped from high level enemies.
They can be bought from player’s personal shops but they are some of the most
expensive weapon talismans around so make sure too shop around before you buy.
Usage: Again, all you need to do to use one is unequip your weapon and then drag
it over the weapon. For every single one of these that you successfully add,
your weapon will gain 1 On Target Point. When it succeeds, the prefix
“Strengthened” will also be added in front of your weapon’s name.
(Example: A “ChulTae Bow” will become “Strengthened ChulTae Bow”.)
Failure: The safety is only granted for the very first of these that you add,
meaning that the second and beyond have a chance of failing and destroying your
weapon. With every one of these you successfully add, it will lower the chance
of the next one to be added without failing. There is a chance that your weapon
will break if one of these fails. I cannot afford to experiment with these
talismons to determine how many endurance points you can lose, but from asking
my guild, I found that it is possible to lose 15 endurance points. I will look
further into this and update accordingly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4. Fixing Tools
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
These items are used to repair the endurance points of your weapon.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4A. Normal Fixing Tool
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Normal Fixing Tool item can be bought from any Merchant in the towns. This
item will recover 1 endurance point that has been lost due to a failed attempt
at adding a talisman. I recomend that you always use these items to fix your
endurance until its full before adding any talismans.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4B. Artisans Fixing Tool
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This item may be bought from any town Merchant. When used on a weapon it will
restore 5 endurance points to it.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4C. Doggebis Fixing Tool
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This item can only be found in a monster-dropped bag. When used on a weapon
it will fully restore all of its endurance points. Though it can also break
your weapon if it has very low endurance to begin with.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
5. Explosive Blow
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Explosive Blow is additional damage that a weapon can do. In order to add EB
you must talk to the “BlackSmith”. Depending on how high your next EB level
attempt is, you will be charged higher and higher ammounts by the Blacksmith
for him to add more. You can only have a max EB equal to the number of Talis-
mons of Attack/Magic that you have on your weapon. The way EB works is that the
higher the level on your weapon, the greater the chance of it activating while
you are fighting an enemy.
(For Example: A weapon with level 10 EB has a chance of the EB activating of
exactly 15%.)
The following steps are how to add EB to your weapon.
1. Add a Talismon of Attack/Magic to your desired weapon.
2. Find the BlackSmith in Temporary Fort.
3. Unequiped your weapon and talk to him.
4. Choose the “Applying Explosive Blow” option.
5. Select your weapon and hit “Start”.
6. From here it will either succeed or fail.
The percentage of it successfully reaching the next level can be seen in the
“Applying Explosive Blow” window. If it fails, your weapon will break so be
sure to always increase the chance of it working to 100%, more on this later.
A weapon with EB on it will be given a suffix in parentheses with the EB’s
level number inside.
(For Example: A bow that has a level 5 EB will be called something like
“+6 ChulTae Bow [5]”, with the 5 being the EB level.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6. Misc Items
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Various important items involving weapon enhancing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6A. Polishing Stones
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Polishing Stones are a KalCash only item. What these do is that they allow you
to add a talisman to a weapon and make the chances of it being destroyed or
losing endurance due to a failure 0%. A talisman can still fail but at least
you can be certain that it will not destroy your weapon. A Polishing Stone will
only work for a single talisman enhancing attempt so you may need many to
achieve your desired level. Polishing Stones are must for your highed grade
weapons, unless you do not care if it breaks, due to their extreme rarity
and high costs. When you add a Polishing Stone, your weapon will glow a bright
silver-white until you use a talisman on it.
As of this guide’s version, you can get 5 Polishing Stones for 59 KalCash.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
6B. Revision Stones
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Revision Stones are the items that are used to increase the chance of getting
your Explosive Blow’s level higher. To increase the chance of success on a
weapon talk to the BlackSmith and select the “Revise the percentage of
Success” option. Then choose your desired weapon and hit “Start Revising
Percentage”. Make sure to ALWAYS continue to add stones until the chance is
100%. Otherwise your weapon will break. The higher the next level of EB you
are trying to revise, the more Revision Stones you will need. The following are
the methods you can use to obtain Revision Stones.
1. Break weapons with failed talisman enhancing attempts. The more Attack/Magic
ones it had when it broke, the more stones you will get.
2. Break Rings, Belts, and Trinkets for 1 Revision Stone each.
3. Break grade 42 armors and above. The higher the grade the more stones you
will receive.
4. There is a chance that an enemy in Dungeon 4 will drop a stone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
